Listapadzik

The competition program of the XIII film competition for children and youth will comprise the best movies for children and youth which were participants and prize winners of prestigious international film festivals for children.

Traditionally the program comprises films of different genres and this year program won’t be an exception. The youngest spectators will have an opportunity to see fairy tales and adventure movies, and teenagers will emphasize with the stories about life and relationships of their age-mates.

Listapadzik is a significant event in the cultural life of Minsk because these days young spectators will not only have an opportunity to see the best movies for children but also to meet the filmmakers. Film directors will come to Minsk to present their films in person, to see the reaction of spectators and to receive a rating of professional filmmakers. During the festival the audience will find that nowadays the cinema for children is presented not only by commercial American projects. Despite financial problems movies about children and for children are shot all over the world.

Someone can find that European director’s view is too bold and daring but such problems as drugs, alcohol and first relationship need a realistic representation.

The organizers admit that the audience reaction can be diverse.  That’s why the main thing is to select films that will arouse the desire to think.
