Festival 2011
Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad” is the most important film forum in Belarus.
Every year “Listapad” brings together an ever-growing audience of cinema enthusiasts along with professionals of film industry. The festival keeps on developing and attracts the attention of the international community.
The Festival program consists of three sections: feature films, documentary films and children's films.
Feature films program comprises the main competition which consists of films-participants and prize-winners of different international film festivals of the CIS, Baltic, Central and Eastern Europe and the competition “Youth on the March” which will present a collection of bright, innovative works by young directors from different countries and continents who managed to win international recognition.
Documentary films program is also presented by the main competition and young directors competition.
Film competition for children and youth “Listapadzik” will comprise the best movies for children and youth which were participants and prize-winners of prestigious international film festivals for children.
The geography of the Festival is very huge. Films and guests come from all continents of the world: Russia, Croatia, Hungary, Philippines, Thailand, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Estonia, Poland, Serbia, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Latvia, Georgia, Armenia, Mongolia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Israel, Turkey, Italy, Slovakia, South Korea, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Romania, Brazil, Mexico, etc.
A vast program of out-of-competition screenings and other Festival events (workshops, discussions and debates) are planned within the Forum.
The slogan of "Listapad 2011" is Eyes Wide Open … It’s an invitation to the world of deep emotions, an invitation to look at the reality in a new way.
Listapad is a great chance for Belarusian audience to see the best artistic movies, to meet eminent guests of the Festival and to celebrate the cinema at festival life events.
The Festival is held by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and Minsk City Executive Committee with the participation of National Governmental Broadcasting Company of the Republic of Belarus, National Film Studio “Belarusfilm”, Belarusian Video Centre, Belarusian Union of Cinematographers.
